Modern Slavery Policy

1. Introduction

Green Engineering Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and supply chains. We take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of slavery, servitude, forced labour, or human trafficking and are dedicated to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. This policy outlines our commitment and the steps we take to identify, prevent, and mitigate the risk of modern slavery across our operations.

2. Our Business

Green Engineering Ltd is a UK-based engineering company specialising in renewable energy infrastructure, sustainability solutions, and project delivery for clients across the public and private sectors. Our operations involve both in-house teams and third-party contractors and suppliers, including subcontracted installation, equipment sourcing, and consultancy services. We recognise that our supply chain extends both within and outside the UK and that parts of it may carry higher risks of labour exploitation or unethical working practices.

3. Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Acting transparently and with integrity in all our business dealings
  • Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery in our operations and supply chains
  • Ensuring that our supply chains and contractors share our values and operate responsibly
  • Complying fully with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and other relevant legislation

4. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

We conduct due diligence to identify and manage potential risks of modern slavery, particularly in areas such as:

  • Procurement of materials or equipment from higher-risk regions or industries
  • Third-party labour agencies or subcontractors
  • Installation or logistics partners using migrant or low-paid workers
  • Third-party labour agencies or subcontractors
  • Installation or logistics partners using migrant or low-paid workers

Steps we take include:

  • Reviewing suppliers’ own modern slavery policies and ethical practices
  • Requiring contractors to confirm compliance with anti-slavery laws
  • Including modern slavery clauses in supplier and subcontractor agreements
  • Conducting checks on new suppliers as part of our onboarding process

Where we identify a potential risk, we will work collaboratively with suppliers to resolve concerns or, if necessary, terminate the business relationship.

5. Training and Awareness

We provide internal awareness and training to relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supply chain management, and recruitment. This ensures our team is equipped to recognise signs of modern slavery and knows how to respond appropriately. We also encourage open communication and provide channels for employees and contractors to raise concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

6. Reporting Concerns

Green Engineering Ltd has a clear reporting mechanism for concerns related to modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical labour practices. Any employee, contractor, or supplier who becomes aware of potential modern slavery is encouraged to report it immediately via our confidential reporting procedure. All reports will be taken seriously, investigated appropriately, and acted upon in line with our internal processes and legal obligations.

7. Responsibilities

The board of directors has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy is implemented and reviewed. Operational responsibility lies with our senior leadership team, who ensure that appropriate controls, monitoring, and training are in place. All employees and contractors are expected to read, understand, and comply with this policy.

8. Review and Transparency

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and reflects changes in legislation or our operations. Where required, we will publish an annual modern slavery statement in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We remain committed to transparency in our business practices and to continual improvement in the protection of human rights across our supply chains.
